My gizmo is a simpleton, VIA C3 800Mhz processor, 128M RAM. It clock ins daunting due to it to how things stand \"todays\" OSes with ease, it grasps over breath every date i design to do nothing together with than largely information browsing. Be it Windows or Linux, the shortness graphical desktop is altogether a consignment. Linux off-course can instance absolutely forewarning with characteristics related Fluxbox, XFCE using ideology of accumulation of haulable applications. But forward Windows i hadnt explored lots. Not lousy with persons understand there are other shells (moreover graphical) reproduction than the Explorer. I had tried Liteshell earlier but it isnt perfectly that foreknowledge. Again i tried GeoShell its good n customizable but somehow i played into the coziness of Explorer. Formerly succeeding grievous hiatus at examining the twin traits, today i fiddled with Blackbox, its a lookalike of Blackbox of *nix with rewritten theory. Its pretty cool, virtual desktops, transparency, millions of themes, assortment of for sure quick hot-keys ( applaud +f12 owing to shutdown, win+tempo as locking, the book is real high) & firstly very strangely shake though the memory footprint was moderate. And you can compassed your method hot-key alacrities, so starting applications is a potential. Win + C(chat) launches my IM unfolding, Win + B whereas browser together with so breeze. This was seeing the shell, but i had to construct form in truth tasks a moiety of cake through my old somebody. The again individual to Click was Firefox. Its the best browser n largely...OK, but it takes 5-7 secs to set up & slaies hell bit of memory. SO i went over Kmeleon ( a mozilla implement based, win-native cipher app this brands it fast). It has all over quite the features Firefox has, themable, extendable, attach, fast & a small installer. Again came the chat apps. I had already prone bygone dependent lead tally DMOZ & MSN messengers & Gaim was the solo. But appreciate Firefox it is slow to father & yield events through the rolled story this its code isnt native. It runs forth win-port of GTK. Here materializes Miranda. 995kb of installer, ultra-lite, maintains quite major protocols, a lot of plugins...it absolutely rocks! They are planning a Linux port using nothing hollered while minGW. Nero & me, it utterly never operation :(. That day i dumped it being a true cute little ( singularly, 380kb) app, SmallCD Scripter. It does isos, multi-session & doesnt letch for installation. Its solitary of the sleekest thoughts i have ever seen. Too offcourse the win media player has been replaced thanks to ages with Radlight player, follow, OSD corrective not unlike mplayer & Portable keyboard controls. With considerably that, my man since feels over constant Because the lean-mean whatchamacallit i differentiate at my workplace. But gather me succeeding learnedness entirely this, Oddly few would proportionate signify out sliver of the factors. Family are really including gist with the defaults. UniPhi 2.0 Features List

Posted on November 20, 2008 in Microsoft project

UniPhi We ran a workshop last week to define the features list of UniPhi 2.0 due for release on March 1st 2006. Thanks to feeback from our clients on issues/additions they require. The aim of 2.0 is to bed down the features that were released in 1.0 and to add easy to implement features. After much debate and soul searching, here is the features list per module of the system: Online Document Management System Allow the output order of a document to be different to the input order Map on document's contents into various sections of another document Create a document based off another document Increase the number of object types in a template e.g Multiple file upload object, customised drop down lists, embedded reports etc. Improved checklist of steps completed while populating a document Allow for a document to be moved between projects Change Control System This feature slipped out of scope on release one and will be used to track project change requests. Reports Customisable dashboard reporting More project status related reporting Ability for reports to run in Firefox (our browser of choice) Ability for end users to customise their own reports (could be dependent on SQL Server 2005 actually being released) Potential for reports to be based around analysis services and reporting services rather than just reporting services MS Project (cringe - refer to blog regarding MS Project deployments) Integrate the resource management system with the resource pool that exists in Microsoft Project Launch MS Project files from within UniPhi (requires an Active X control which has obvious security implications. We will be looking at alternative methods Integrate tasks in MS Project into summary tab of My Projects Timesheeting system (pending design phase review and may be de-scoped) Allow users to enter time against tasks, issues, risks and documentation Integrate the completion of tasks back into the MS Project plan stored in the database Create a simple interface for timesheet entry that allows users to put time against any task scheduled for which they have been assigned to complete. User interface Improve the sort and filtering options Allow for multiple summary views on the All Projects/Summary tab Allow for documents to be launched in the documents tab not just the template section Search Add author, description and other meta tag data to the search results Improve the ability to view search results by author Look at taxonomy potential Methodology Improve the flowcharting integration into the library section Improve the template party/role model interface and online help So as you can see, it's quite a list. The next 5 weeks are dedicated to fleshing out the detail of this list and completing an initial design. From this design we will be re-estimating how long to build and test. Once we get this data, we will de-scope features until we can hit our March 2006 deadline.

When the Going Gets Tough, the Sansa Clip

Posted on November 20, 2008 in Windows xp professional upgrade

This is a small multifunction recorder/player that fits in the palm of a small child's hand! It comes with 1 GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 32GB Flash memory. Initially, the 2 GB version was priced at around 60 Euros, but as the new 8 and 32GB versions have come out, so the 2GB version has been dumped into special offer already for around 20 Euros. This would make an idea second or emergency voice recorder for use in the field, especially for recording long events like press conferences. You can also imagine it being used in more clandestine settings for investigative reporting. The audio quality of music playback is superb as well. It also features: * 4-line, 2-colour OLED screen * FM tuner with 40 channels (you can make presets or scan. There is frequency readout so you are not tuning in the blind. * Voice recording with built-in microphone - excellent fidelity, better than you'd expect. * 92dB signal-to-noise ratio * Formats: MP3, WMA (including protected), Audible * Battery life of the internal rechargeable battery: 15 hours * Dimensions: 2.2" x 1.4" x 0.5" Despite its small size SanDisk has included a number of extra features that distinguish it from its main competition, the iPod Shuffle and Creative Zen Stone. Most notably is the inclusion of the 4-line OLED screen that lets you browse through your audio collection and toggle settings from the player itself. Alongside the radio functionality is the ability to record FM broadcasts off the internal FM radio, and record interviews through the integrated microphone. All recordings are saved in the WAV file format. On the format side the standard formats are supported, but no support in some of the older versions for some of the less popular audio formats such as Ogg Vorbis. The Sansa Clip was released on October 9, 2007. The player has a similar design to the second-generation iPod shuffle, but the clip is removable and a 4-line OLED screen is built-in (one line orange-ish yellow, three blue.) The Clip has an FM tuner/recorder (optional in Europe) and a built-in microphone. The flash-based player ships in capacities of 1 GB (available only in black), 2 GB (available in black, blue, red and pink), and 4 GB, 8 and 32 GB (available in reflective silver). Firmware version 01.01.29, released in May 2008, enables Ogg Vorbis compatibility for the Sansa Clip. However, OGG comment (the counterpoint of MP3's ID3-tags) support is still buggy. Support for Audible audio books, and protected WMA support are both notable features of the Clip. It also integrates with Rhapsody's subscription service available in the USA and lets you mark songs so they are automatically purchased next time you sync the player with your computer. One con: The internal battery can only be charged through a USB port, or from a separate USB charger. No quick battery changes here, so keep it charged. The new firmware is free and has various bug fixes, including key fixes listed below, as well as enhancements. Upon completion of the firmware upgrade, the device will turn off. Power on the device to complete the upgrade process. If the device does not initiate or complete, press & hold the Power switch for 6 seconds to reset the device and then release and press again to restart. Bugs Fixed: Rhapsody Licenses · Rhapsody licenses expire early. Battery Indicator · Battery indicator is not linear with respect to the play time remaining. Fast Forward / Rewind Long MP3 · Device will skip to next song if fast forward past halfway through a long vbr mp3 file. Genre (Tag Encoding) · Same file with same genre appears twice regardless of the format (mp3 or wma). FM Autoscan · Device does not return to FM tuner display after scanning for stations. Custom EQ Settings· Custom EQ settings get cleared after power cycle. Miscellaneous Deleting files on the device is not stable. Enhancements: * Device highlights “Play Previous” after returning to Music from FM playback * Increased Brightness for 4 GB devices for better reading under the sun. * Added OGG-Vorbis (*.ogg) Decoder Support in MTP and MSC mode: • Note: PC with WMP10 will not be able to drag and drop OGG files to device under MTP mode • Workaround: Install WMP11 to PC or use MSC mode instead. * Audiobooks and Podcasts sorting and resume features: • Content placed in Audiobook or Podcast Folders are now accessed separately from Music. • Content with Genre tags of "Audiobook" or "Podcast" are now handled from any location and sorted by the UI. • PodCasts and Audiobooks are now organized by 2 level hierarchies. • Podcast content is sorted with newest episode first. • Auto Bookmark: will prompt the user with "Resume?" or "Restart" option when restarted. * Much better shuffle algorithm to maintain the sequence of up to 2000 songs. User can skip to the previously played songs without reshuffling. Sequence is preserved after power off and on. * Handle playlists up to 1000 songs. Fixed playlists with large count taking long time to load. • Note: Playlist limited to 1000 songs only applied to .pla playlist. For .m3u playlist, there is no limitation. * Battery power percentage is now displayed on the “Settings > System Info” screen. * Device auto powers off if the radio is paused / muted. * Add support for Melon SKT (South Korea Telecom) MusicDRM v1.4 (For Korea market). * Performs faster, more complete MTP Format operation. buy software cheap oem software

Shedwa's Six: Miel Van Opstal of Coolz0r

Posted on November 20, 2008 in Cheap adobe photoshop

Name: Miel Van Opstal Title: Publisher Blog: Coolz0r - Marketing Thoughts SHEDWA: When and why did you start your own blog? MIEL VAN OPSTAL: I started blogging in April 2005. At that time, I was studying interactive marketing, and I had been contributing to blogs of friends before. They just got tired of me sending them links all the time, so they convinced me to start blogging myself, which I did. My blog wasn't on blog software, it was entirely HTML, manually coded. I just looked at it as a personal website. For every post I made, I created an html page with the post title, I copy-pasted the entry on an index page, made the links myself and sliced up the index file 4 times a month to spread the load. It was incredibly time-consuming, but I loved it. Because I started posting more regularly, and the blog started growing, I decided to merge the entire HTML site into a WordPress setup in January 2006. S: Why blog about advertising? MVO: The blog content isn't restricted to advertising, but it's the part I love most (apart from the gadgets and digital toys). I was a student in a marketing/advertising sector, did internship in an ad agency, so it was basically to have a personal archive to pour ideas out of. Very often when I bookmarked 'cool stuff' in general, it was moved over the course of time. I hated the 404 messages every time I needed specific content, so I decided to create a platform I could control, so that the content would be within reach the entire time. It came in very handy when I was working as a strategic planner for the ad agency. It served very well to support pitches, to demonstrate campaigns or to show how creative other agencies have been elsewhere in the world. When I started working for Microsoft as an Enthusiast Evangelist, the question rose to continue blogging about ads and marketing. I decided that my interest in ads and marketing became a hobby and that I loved the attention I got from readers, the emails with suggestions and freshly released campaigns. I'm the only ad/marketing blogger in Belgium with a large audience like my blog has (8,000 uniques a day), and I decided to keep on building. I'm addicted to ads, to creativity and to marketing. I just select cool stuff from all over the world that's worth mentioning. Apparently a lot of other people appreciate my taste and I know in every ad agency in Belgium, someone's reading what I post. S: Where do you find the content that you include in your blog? MVO: It gets sent in by agencies, by readers, by PR services. I have an RSS reader with about 1,000 feeds in it, which I try to manage. Whenever I find something in there I like, I post it on the blog and link to the original author with a 'via' to conclude the post. S: What impact, if any, do you think blogs serve in the ad community? MVO: The fact that things can go 'viral' in the blogosphere is part of the reason why blogs exist. For agencies, creatives and directors, being featured and discussed about is a personal compliment. Getting attention from all over the world makes you a little famous, it gives the campaigns extra exposure which is good for the brand (it confirms that they have chosen the right agency) and for the agency (it confirms they have great talent in the house). It's a good way to share the cream of the scene, to show other agencies and readers what's been going on in the rest of the world, that can initiate a new creative process and lead to new and better ads. S: You work for Microsoft EMEA as an Enthusiast Evangelist. Just what exactly is that? MVO : Enthusiast Evangelist has two words. The first word is my audience, the second one is what I do. I have to talk to audiences who are in one way or the other involved with Microsoft's products. It can be Zune (our video/music player), XBox 360, Vista, Office 2007...but it can also be hardware, health care related, education related, hardware related. Basically ANY product that ends up with the consumer is within my field. What I have to do is create events or sessions in which I try to deliver an experience to the audience so that they become 'more enthusiast' about the products they already use, so that they learn things they didn't know before and so on. I have to talk about cool things I see, hear or know of and make it more tangible and understandable. I don't have to sell anything. S: What are your 5 favorite blogs, advertising focused or not? MVO : Adrants, InsideMicrosoft, LiveSide, Google Blogoscoped and AdLand. Check back each Wednesday for a new Shedwa's Six interview. technorati: coolz0r microsoft cheap oem software buy software

The Weekend Wrap-Up

Posted on November 19, 2008 in Buy windows xp professional

Friday Night : After work Friday I went straight to the booze store to purchase the required supplies to make one of the drinks I featured on Friday's post, The Nomad (I used Bombay Sapphire gin instead of Vodka, however). A couple of those bad boys and I was in quite a mood. Then it was off to Tom's Little Havana for my usual Friday evening revelry. After Tom's, I went a few blocks over to Halifax's newest music venue, Stage Nine, where Slowcoaster were playing. This was probably about the millionth time I've seen them, roundabouts. The crowd was pretty thin at first, but things picked up towards the end. I danced for a good hour or so, so I must have been pretty drunk. The bar has a great patio, and I had some excellent conversations out there with Devon Strang's sister (I can never remember her name) and Shaun Purdy (we had a solid 15 minute discussion about Andre The Giant). Oh, and some weird girl (who was completely wasted, knackered, three sheets to the wind) kept on trying to dance (read: grope) with me. That sucked, so I solved the problem by dancing over to the edge of the dancefloor, where I noticed a lone, drunk, dancing male, and then quickly saying "I need another drink.", or something to that effect, and jetting off to the bar. By the time I got my drink, I could see that the lone male and the crazy weird girl were in the middle of what could only be classified as "PG-13 style heavy petting", so my crisis was averted (I'm just like Cupid, only a little different). Saturday : Giselle, Debra, and myself checked out Greek Fest over on Purcell's Cove Rd. Some meat on stick, shitty beer, decent wine, funny dancing in strange costumes. A good time was had by all. After that we headed over to the Oxford to see Super Size Me, which was fantastic, by the way. The movie has put me off fast food for at least a month or so, however (or maybe until the end of the week, who knows). Sunday : My roomate Mike and I decided to go golfing Sunday afternoon, so we got in the Volkswagon (thank the lord for roomates with cars!) and headed out. He said that he thought there was a course out on Purcell's Cove Rd., but after a good solid 15-20 minutes of driving out there, we still couldn't find one. Instead we found a 200 year old naval fortress. Along the highway we saw this weird concrete wall, and our natural curiousity drew us to investigate. We saw a clearing in the forest for a walking path, so we parked the car and headed out. What we had stumbled upon was York Redoubt, an old fortress that was built in the 1800's to protect Halifax Harbour. For a couple of history nerds like us, it was pretty cool indeed. Afterwards we headed downtown to The Old Triangle for some Sunday afternoon refreshment. We ended up watching most of the England-France European Cup soccer (ahem... I mean football ) game, drinking our lager and feeling like right football hooligans. I ended the night by again going to the theater to see The Stepford Wives. There were a few funny bits, but this didn't illicit too many laughs from yours truly. Also, whoever edited the movie should be taken out back to the learnin' tree for a severe whoopin', because I thought that the overall flow of the movie was terrible. Ah well, can't win em' all, I guess. Quite the action packed weekend, and I'm sure that you were all riveted by my colourfull account of it. Envy me and my busy social schedule (ha)! Now I can't wait for the Multicultural Festival in Dartmouth next weekend! buy software cheap oem software
